About Happy Cakes
I started baking cupcakes when we celebrated my first son's 1st birthday thirteen years ago. An entire cake seemed like too much for him to devour, so I decided to make cupcakes instead. From that point on, we celebrated all birthdays with cupcakes. Within two years both of my boys were asking for their birthday Happy Cakes and that's how the business name was born.
About seven years ago, I started to experiment with different flavors and fillings. It was always fun to watch the kids' expressions when they'd bite into pudding, jams, peanut butter and jelly, or marshmallows. They were a huge hit! After moving to Maryland in 2013, I had some extra time on my hands and decided to discover new recipes and tweak those I've been baking for years. Thanks to my family and neighbors, who were very willing taste testers, I decided to open Happy Cakes and share the joy of cupcakes her in southern Maryland.
